This is a brief overview of the expectations students should have when working on various projects this school year

Creative writing Class

Students will demonstrate their ability to research contemporary topics and turn that research into writing including the necessary skills to write, plan and edit based on their own original research and creative ideas. The course will be broken down into five distinct categories of study:

1. Enhance and refine their ability to brainstorm, draft, write, revise, and finalize stories and scripts in proper format following appropriate policy, and copyright with suitable content to meet the objectives for the assignments.

2. Enhance and refine their knowledge of specialized vocabulary in the pre-production, production, and post-production process.

3. Enhance and refine their ability to complete detailed storyboards including the analysis of music and lyrics, use of special effects and transitions, and story elements.

4. Demonstrate understanding of historical and cultural issues impacting films and plays.

5. Develop understanding of broadcast media’s influence on community including the impact that broadcast media has on school, social, and community organizations and causes.
