COMMERCIAL ART FOR TRADES
Class supplies for school year: 2 GB thumbdrive.
Classwork Storage Policy: Students must bring thumbdrive to class every day to store and/or back up class work. If thumbdrive is lost at any time during the school year students are responsible for replacing it. This is a computer class with a mixture of Mac's & PC. Mac computers do not have access to the student drive. Therefore students are not allowed to save work on computers unless they can access the school student drive with their password. This avoids the risk of other student's tampering, deleting or copying the work. Regardless if you are saving your work on the school drive you still must back it up on your thumbdrive. It is also a good policy to back your work up on your home computer.
Class Description: Students will be learning photo-editing techniques in Adobe Photoshop; vector drawing and typography in Adobe Illustrator and layout design in Adobe InDesign. Students will be designing logo's, business cards, posters, newsletters, brochures, book jackets, magazine articles and print ads related to their shop industry. Students will also be introduced to web design in creating a basic webpage for their shop.
