Warren Tech Athletics

Warren County Technical School provides students an opportunity to participate in interscholastic sports in order to fully develop their academic and athletic potential. A total of ten different sports are offered to students.

April Athletes of the Month
Warren Tech softball player Shannon Ruddy and baseball player Travis Nunnally were named athletes of the month for the month of April. Ruddy, a freshman earned the award as a catcher for the Lady Knights. Nunnally, a senior first baseman and pitcher earned his second Athlete of the Month Award this year and was recently named Warren Tech Male Athlete of the Year. Congratulations!

March Athletes of the Month Announced
Warren Tech Spring Sports seasons are underway and the March Athletes of the Month have been announced. Amber Francy earns the award as a member of the Knights Softball team while Michael Perigo earns the honors for the baseball team. Francy demonstrates leadership on the softball team and is a reliable peer and mentor to her teammates. Perigo, a starting pitcher and a catcher for the Knights leads by example and is dedicating to helping the team succeed.

February Athletes of the Month
Senior Boys Basketball player Travis Nunnally and freshman Girls Basketball Player Lia Sabatino were recently named February Athletes of the Month. Nunnally finished his senior season with the Knights as a vocal leader who motivated his teammates. Sabatino earned the honors as a freshman athlete whose effort and toughness on defense was an integral piece to the Lady Knights success this season.

Basketball Award Winners Announced
On Wednesday, March 1st members of the Boys and Girls Basketball teams were honored at the 2017 Basketball Awards Ceremony. Junior Lady Knights Basketball Player Shealyn Prouflias and Junior Boys Basketball Player Terry Riley earned Most Valuable Player honors while sophomore Addie Smith won the Coach’s Award for the Lady Knights. Senior Travis Nunnally earned the Coach’s Award honors for the boy’s team.

January Athletes of Month Announced
Senior Cheerleader Destiny Smith and Sophomore Boys Basketball player Juan Pineda have earned Warren County Technical School Athlete of the Month Honors for the Month of January after being nominated by their coaches. Smith, a four year veteran cheerleader, serves as captain for the squad and is knowledgeable, dedicated, and talented. Pineda, a newcomer to the basketball team this season has demonstrated leadership by example with good character, hard work, and determination.

December Athlete of the Month Honors Announced
Senior Girls Basketball player Ruth Wicks and Junior Boys Basketball Player Terry Reilly have earned Athlete of the Month Honors for the month of December. Wicks, a forward for the Lady Knights is a vocal leader for the team and her strong defense was an integral piece of Tech's third place finish in the NJTAC Northern Division Holiday Tournament. Reilly earns the honors for his lead by example approach to practice and games. Reilly is one of the hardest working players in the Knights lineup and he has an integral role in building team chemistry.

Winter Sports Seasons are Underway
The Warren Tech Basketball teams tipped off their seasons with a double header at home on Thursday December 15th. Leading up to the match ups with Noor-Ul-Iman (NUI), Tech hosted a pep rally and awards ceremony. At the ceremony students were honored for academic achievements, the teams were introduced, and there were a host of other activities such as half court shots and relay races.
